Chicken Shawarma Tacos

 

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • Chicken Marinade

    • 1lb. Chicken Thighs

    • 1 TBSP Olive Oil

    • 1 TBSP Tomato Paste

    • 2 TBSP Yogurt

    • 1 /2 Lemon Juiced

    • 3 TBSP Z&Z Shawarma Blend

    For the Wrap

    • Pita , Lavash, or Flour Tortilla

    • Toum/Garlic Sauce/Mayo

    • Middle Eastern Pickles/Pickles

      • or Red Onions (Pickled Onions), Mint, Tomato, Parsley

    • French Fries (store bought frozen fries work great)

Instructions

  1. Marinade The Chicken

    • Combine all marinade ingredients in a bowl then whisk to combine. Add the chicken and toss well to coat. Cover and store in refrigerator for at least 1 hour and up to 12 hours.

  2. Cook The Chicken

    • Oven: When ready to cook, heat oven to 425 degrees. Use olive oil to grease a rimmed sheet pan. Place chicken on the pan and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 165. (~25+ minutes)

    • Frying Pan: Fry in pan until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165

  3. Shawarma Tacos Assembly

    • After chicken has cooled, slice chicken thighs into thin strips. Spread Toum or Garlic Aioli on wrap and top with sliced chicken. Add pickles and fries. Wrap and for an extra crunch sear on frying pan with vegetable oil.
